NARRS training events |
||
This page gives you details of the training days that have been set up around the UK for NARRS volunteers. Attending a training day is not mandatory, and these events are aimed at people who need training or would like to brush up on their skills. The training days will provide the necessary training for surveyors to take part in the National Amphibian Survey and/or National Reptile Survey. This includes amphibian and reptile identification, habitat assessment, survey methods, NARRS instructions and protocols, health and safety, licensing, and landowner permissions. Attendees will receive their National Amphibian Survey and/or National Reptile Survey packs at the training events. 2008 training events have now finished, but if you would like to attend a training course in 2009, please contact John Wilkinson at johnw.wilkinson@herpconstrust.org.uk Please be sure to state the county you live in when contacting John. If you are looking for professional training for career development purposes, the HCT runs a series of professional training courses charged at £60 each. Details are posted at the HCT website www.herpconstrust.org.uk. NARRS training courses are aimed at volunteers who genuinely aim to take part in NARRS surveys, and places are limited.
