National Amphibian Survey - Survey Pack |
Note that if you attend a training event, you will be issued with all the materials needed to take part in this survey, and you do not need to download anything here. However, if you cannot attend training or wish to begin surveying sooner, you will need to download all the survey materials here. We apologise that some of the files are very large (up to 5MB), but they cannot be compressed any further. If you are not on broadband, it is probably best to try and find somewhere/someone that can download them for you. |

Protected species licensing |
If you are likely to encounter protected amphibian species while taking part in NARRS surveys (great crested newt, natterjack toad), you will need to be licensed. |
If you do not have your own licence, but you attend a training event, you will be issued with a licence accreditation letter adding you to the ARC’s licence (subject satisfactory completion of the training). |
Alternatively, if your local ARG has a licence, you may be able to get accredited on it. |
Otherwise, if you do not attend training but need to be licensed, you will need to contact us directly to present your credentials for adding you to the ARC licence. |
Once you have received a licence accreditation letter from us, you must sign the licence section on the NARRS Volunteer Agreement in order to be covered. |
You must be registered to take part in NARRS. If you have only just registered, you will be contacted within a week to allocate you a survey square. |
