Sand Lizard

Sand lizards are larger and stockier than common lizards. The males are most recogniseable when they develop striking bright green sides during the spring mating season. Females have bold markings along the back and sides, made up of dark blobs with pale centres. Males also have these markings but the blobs are usually smaller.
