Garden Amphibian Survey

This survey aims to gather information on the national distribution of amphibians in gardens. It will also help us to assess the importance of garden ponds as amphibian breeding sites.  There are fears that all amphibians are declining in the UK, and with fewer ponds in the countryside than there used to be, garden ponds are becoming more important.

If you have amphibians in your garden, please let us know by completing the online survey form.  You can even tell us if you don’t have any amphibians in your pond.  If you are not too confident telling the difference between frogs and toads, or one newt and another, you can get help with identification by using the amphibian ID guide.
